Rhodopis (The Egyptian Cinderella)

Rhodopis (The Egyptian Cinderella) adapted from the Strabo, historian, 64 BC – 24 AD

When Rhodopis was small she had been kidnapped by pirates and sold to be an Egyptian slave. The bad guys in the story were the servant girls. They treated Rhodopis badly . The "special shoes" in this Cinderella story were a pair of slippers, given to her by her master because she danced gracefully. A falcon flew down and snatched away one of Rhodopis's  slipper. The falcon dropped the slipper on the Pharaoh lap. Rhodopis's  foot fit the slipper. The Pharaoh married her.  The servant girls remained servants.
